Denver Area Council Annual Eagle Scout Recognition Dinner March 2010

Congratulations to Troop 373 for having 10 EAGLE SCOUTS in 2009.  This was the largest number of Eagle Scouts from any one Troop of the approx 475 Boy Scout Troops in the entire Denver Area Council.  In 2009 there were a total of 493 Eagle Scouts from 173 different Troops in the Denver Area Council. There were 8 Eagle Scouts from 4 different Troops, 7 Eagle Scouts from 6 different Troops and 6 Eagle Scouts from 7 different Troops.   The average age of the Class of 2009 Eagle Scouts was 17 years and 1 month old.  The average length of time being a Life Scout was 32 months before they became an Eagle Scout.  Twenty percent (20%) of all the 2009 Eagle Scouts reached that rank within 1 week of their 18th birthday.   Of the Class of 2009 Eagle Scouts, 40% demonstrated leadership as a Senior Patrol Leader, 30% as an Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, and 21% as a Patrol Leader of their Troop.  The average number of hours of service on the 2009 Eagle projects was 195 hours with a total of 55,000 service hours for all the 493 Eagle Scouts.  The top 5 (non-Eagle required) merit badges were Archery, Fingerprinting, Leatherworks, Canoeing and Rock Climbing.  There are currently 9000 Eagle Scouts living in the Denver area.    Troop 373 Eagle Scout Honor Roll:  http://www.troop373.org/activities/eaglescouts.asp
