Troop New Scout Spring Campout - Chatfield State Park , April  2007

This year the Troop spent all day Saturday teaching the new Scouts Tenderfoot and Second Class skills for advancement.  The Troop went to Chatfield State Park to the Group campgrounds and everyone helped pitch the tents for our overnight campout.  The new Patrols camped together and made their meals together showing great teamwork.  Saturday afternoon the Troop under the leadership of SPL Dale B. and Scoutmaster Rohde coordinated a service project in the park helping out the Park Rangers.  The evening dinner meals were delicious especially the several Dutch oven cooking recipes including some special desserts.  After a great game of capture the flag we had our traditional campfire welcoming our newest Troop members.  We had our OA - Order of the Arrow Callout Ceremony and also had a wonderful Flag Retirement Ceremony.  Sunday morning breakfast was great and after we cleaned up camp our Troop Chaplains conducted a wonderful religious ceremony among the trees and honoring the Indian tribes that once lived in this area.  Here are a few pictures taken by Mr. Earle, Mr. Brunke, Mr. Evans, and Mr. Walker.
