Spring Campout to Peaceful Valley Scout Ranch for the new Scouts, April 2006

The Spring Campout for the newer Scouts was a two night adventure to Peaceful Valley Scout Ranch.  We camped overlooking the lake and field of Cattle.  45 Scouts and adults camped out in tents and had delicious food cooked by each patrol and the adults ate separately.  The Troop instructors worked hard teaching the camping and advancement skills to each of the new Scouts attending this annual event.  Snow and cold weather on Friday night and Saturday morning but it turned warm Saturday afternoon.  Our two hour service project was to cut the lower branches off of the pine trees around the Cris Dobbins campsites and carried the loose branches back to the road for the shredder.  Lashing was fun as was the nightly capture the flag games.
