Troop 373 Events Back to the listDenver Area Council Honors all 2005 Eagle Scouts at the First Annual Eagle Recognition Banquet February 24, 2006There were 472 Scouts that reached the rank of Eagle in 2005 and came from 171 different troops in the Denver Area Council. Troop 373 had 7 Eagle Scouts in 2005. In 2005 there were 54,000 boys in the Scouting program in the Denver Area Council including Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venture Scouts. That means that less than 1 percent of the current boys in Scouting in the Denver Area Council became an Eagle Scout while our Troop 373 had 10 percent that become Eagle Scouts. Congratulations to all our hard working and dedicated Scouts and adult leaders in our Troop to make this great achievement happen. Here are some statistics on the 2005 class of Eagle Scouts: Seventeen members of the class earned their Eagle rank within 2 days of their 18th birthday (Troop 373 had Sean earn his Eagle rank 2 days before his 18th birthday.) On the night that these 472 Scouts went to their Eagle Boards of Review, they averaged 16 years and 11 months old. On average, they had been Scouts for 5 years and 10 months, and they had been Life Scouts for 31 months. Twenty-eight of these Eagles went to either the 2001 or 2005 National Jamboree; one of them went to both. Most of these Scouts were holding down demanding leadership positions in their Troops or Crews at the same time. 35% of them were serving as Senior Patrol Leaders, 27% as Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders, and 21% were serving as Patrol Leaders. Remarks by Jim Blair, Council Commissioner - February 24, 2006
