Troop Campout to Cherry Creek State Park, April 2005

Annual 2 night overnight at the Cherry Creek State Park Campgrounds for training the new Scouts that just joined the Troop.  This was their first campout with the Troop and the older Scouts were the trainers.  Everyone did their own cooking and the adults ate separately.  Mr. Earle made his famous dutch oven desserts and shared them with the Scouts and adults.  This year's service project had us remove about 300 pounds of thistle weeds at the new Chief Ouray Group campgrounds.  Everyone left smelling of smoke from the 2 nightly campfires. Saturday night's campfire had a flag retirement ceremony and J. Harvey and Mr. Mussato were awarded the grommets from the flag.  Sunday morning services were held at the top of the hill overlooking our campsite and the park.
