About the Web Site

One day, we realized that many of our Scouts and Parents were having a hard time keeping up with the many obligations they have. Scheduling is difficult, with school, family, church, sports, Scouts, and many other activities all competing for time and attention.

The Pedro Patrol, being new to the Troop (we crossed over from Webelos Scouts in January of 1999), was particularly challenged. We decided that in this modern age of computers and the Web, that using a web site would be a great way to communicate with all of the members of our Scouting community. So, we launched this web site in September of 1999.

We wanted the site to have a professional image, yet be maintained by the boys in the Troop. To achieve these goals, we decided to have the adult leaders of the Patrol lay out the initial design of a page, and then have the boys research, obtain, and fill in the content. We are using this web site as a teaching tool - ultimately we intend for the boys to maintain the site themselves.
